"Wasabi"
1993 Isuzu Rodeo 4X4 Motorhome
-- SOLD --
Wasabi is a vibe machine!
Designed for the forest lover who wants to get lost in the woods.
With the very capable 4X4 drivetrain, you can go off-road even in winter to ski/snowboard or camp in spots that most vans or cars can't reach.
Blends into the natural surroundings with the textured military green & black aesthetic
The combo of vintage features with modern tech equipment, rebuilt and resurfaced interior makes it one unique home on wheels!

Mechanical:
-
Highly-sought after 2.8L 4JB1-T 4-cylinder Turbo Diesel engine.
-
4WD with 4-Hi and 4-Lo with auto-locking hubs
- 5-speed manual transmission (I can't express how fun it is to drive a stick 4X4 motorhome in snow)
-
20-22 mpg!!! (I add diesel fuel cleaner and it increases the fuel economy by 10%)
-
60K (mostly highway) original miles. The engine has been serviced regularly and is in excellent condition.
-
Despite the 4800lb weight, it pushes 110hp @3600rpm. Yes, you can't zoom past mountain passes at 60mph with the 2.8L, but do you really need to? Cruise, take in the views and enjoy the ride - if that's you, this rig is a dream home!

Interior:
-
Thorough interior remodeling creates a soothing, homely atmosphere to relax in after a long day of hiking/biking/skiing!
-
The kitchen and bathroom are conveniently located in the rear opening up 85% of the space in the camper to move around freely.
-
Full size bed above the cab and another foldable queen size bed in the camper. The camper can sleep 4 people easily, and if your friends are into cuddling, you can fit 6. We've definitely fit 5 :)
-
2-seat and a dinette table converts into a bed, completing the roll-over couch bed. You can have a half-bed with table up, or a queen-size bed with the table down. You choose the vibe :)
-
The bed above the cab also folds back, making the cab area more accessible.
-
All cushions have custom-made sage-green washable covers and offer a cozy-comfy sleeping experience.
Upgrades -
The original layout designed by the Japanese was aesthetically pleasing, but... The carpeted floor/walls, fiberglass insulation, flimsy wall/ceiling panels, and outdated plywood finish was outdated (Refer to images at the bottom).
So we remodeled:-
Ripped the wall panels apart, replaced the older damaged panels with newer ones
-
Pulled most of the fiberglass out and replaced with Havelock wool insulation
-
Installed wooden planks to the ceiling
-
Painted and stained the interior with non-toxic paint and natural stain.
-
Ripped the carpet out (Insanely laborious!) and installed new vinyl, water-resistant floor.
-
Built new shelves and spice racks
-
Covered the kitchen walls with waterproof stick-on tiles.
