Frog

1994 Ford 35C 4X4 Motorhome

-- For Sale --

A house disguised as a tank?
Apocalypse bug-out rig?
Snow and sand adventure-mobile?
Our friend, Frog does it all and looks oh so good doing it.
The rarely found streamlined body was a perfect match for the textured military green & black exterior .
In addition to a professionally built 4x4 drivetrain, Frog features a custom fabricated roof rack, front bumper with winch, rear tire carrier/storage swing, and a modular interior design to maximize space for hauling toys without compromising a cozy living & remote working space.

The Story:

Frog started off as a transportation vehicle for people with disabilities, and was kept it storage for a couple years after it was retired. We have always appreciated the vehicles from 90s and never connected with new vans like transits or sprinters, so when we saw the streamlined body type with ample space inside, we could visualize our dream rig. We took the bus to our very talented rallyist friend, Andy's shop and had it converted into a 4x4 drivetrain with a 6-inch lift.

In the next few months, we painted the rig, custom fabricated a roof rack and a front bumper, installed the best R/T tires and wheels available on the market and started the interior build.

Upon completion, we took Frog on several trips across Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California and people were just stunned everywhere. The primates we all are, the validation was heartwarming! The winters in Central Oregon were intimidating but the 4x4 came in clutch and we had zero problems navigating the snowy forest roads.
Our plan for December this year was to take it to Baja, but an opportunity of a lifetime opened itself across the planet in India, and we couldn't say no. The time has come for Frog to find new adventure partners so if you are a big rig person, appreciates the build quality and reliability of the mid-90s, and seeks an oh so unique adventure mobile that makes every head on the road turn, Frog will fulfill your dreams.

Mechanical:

  • The Legendary 7.3L IDI Diesel engine. The engine has been gone through and the mechanics have given it an A+ in terms of functionality and life ahead.

  • Professionally converted 4WD drivetrain with 4-Hi and 4-Lo with auto-locking hubs. 4Lo is so key for those deep snowy and sandy adventures. The gear ratio is 4.10:1 with a bw4407 transfer case.

  • Dana 60 front axle, along with premium rough country shocks.

  • We went with the 6-inch lift to ensure plenty clearance over rough terrain and we have been very happy with it.

  • A well-preserved engine with only 180K (mostly highway) original miles. 7.3 IDIs are known to go well-past 500K miles, so Frog has a lot of adventurous life ahead.
